Online Colleges and Universities in North Dakota:

One of the most sparingly populated states in the nation happens to be North Dakota and it was therefore ranked a 48th position by the U.S. Census in 2010 in terms of its overall density. This scarce population in the past, put students at a greater disadvantage, especially those living beyond the major urban centers. Nevertheless, the online education trend has turned things upside down for good, changing the entire scenario. Although the first institutions providing online degree programs and classes were for-profit, private colleges, online education has now entered mainstream with eight of the 29 colleges in the state offering web-based education in various forms and combinations. For instance, the University of North Dakota (UND) offers online certificates, degrees and courses across a wide range of subject areas, designed in such a way that all the unique requirements of working adults with busy schedules are met with relative ease. There are three types of online certificate courses that students studying online can choose from – certificate of completion for career training and continuing education, certificate/licensure exam prep or graduate certificate for completing online graduate-level courses.
